Definition
The space inside a prism, equal to the base area times the height, in cubic units.
Examples
- A box 4 by 3 by 2: V = base area x height = 12 x 2 = 24 cubic units.
- A triangular prism with base area 10 and height 6 has volume 60 cubic units.
Key rule
The volume of a prism equals the area of its base times its height.
