Uniform Probability Model
7.SP.C.7
Definition
A probability model in which all outcomes have the same probability. P(each outcome) = 1/n, where n is the number of outcomes.
Examples
- A fair die: P(1) = P(2) = ... = P(6) = 1/6, summing to 1.
- A fair coin and an equal spinner (4 equal sections) are also uniform.
Key rule
Every outcome getting the same probability is what makes it uniform.
Memory hook
Every outcome, exactly the same odds.
