Definition

Two angles whose measures sum to 180°. Each is the supplement of the other. Can be adjacent or non-adjacent.

Examples

  • 50° and 130° sum to 180° — supplementary.
  • Supplement of 65° = 180° - 65° = 115°.

Key rule

Complementary sums to 90° (corner); supplementary sums to 180° (straight line).
