SSS Congruence

HSG-SRT.B.5

Definition

Triangles are congruent if all three pairs of corresponding sides are equal.

Examples

  • If three sides of one triangle equal three sides of another, the triangles are congruent by SSS.
  • Triangles with sides 3-4-5 and 3-4-5 are congruent by SSS.

Key rule

SSS needs all three side pairs to match — no angles required.

Memory hook

Side, Side, Side — three matching sides prove it.
