A fraction reduced so the numerator and denominator have no common factor but 1.
Examples
- 6/8 in simplest form is 3/4.
- 10/15 in simplest form is 2/3.
Key rule
A fraction is in simplest form when no number besides 1 divides both the top and bottom evenly.
