Definition
A graph of paired numerical data in which each point represents one observation. It is used to reveal relationships, trends, or clusters between two variables.
Examples
- Each dot is one data pair (hours studied, test score).
- As hours go up, scores tend to go up — a positive trend.
Key rule
Look at the cloud of points as a whole — its shape and direction tell the story.
