Definition
A transformation that flips a figure over a line of reflection, producing a mirror image. Each point and its image are equidistant from the line.
Examples
- (x, y) → (-x, y) when reflecting over the y-axis.
- The image is congruent but reversed.
Key rule
Each point and its image are the same distance from the line, on opposite sides.
