Definition

A closed two-dimensional figure formed by three or more straight line segments.

Examples

  • Triangles, pentagons, and hexagons are all polygons.
  • A circle is NOT a polygon — it has no straight sides.

Key rule

A polygon must be closed, with only straight sides — no curves or gaps.
