Parallel Slopes
HSG-GPE.B.5
Definition
Parallel lines have the same slope and never intersect.
Examples
- Two non-vertical lines are parallel if and only if they have equal slopes, m1 = m2.
- A line with slope 3 is parallel to any other line with slope 3.
Key rule
Equal slopes always mean two non-vertical lines are parallel.
Memory hook
Same slope, lines that never meet.
