Infinitely Many
8.EE.C.7a
Definition
Occurs when solving an equation eliminates the variable and leaves a true statement. Every value of the variable works; both sides are the same line.
Examples
- 2(x+3) = 2x+6 simplifies to 6=6 — always true.
- Graphically, both equations are the same line.
Key rule
A true statement with no variable left means infinitely many solutions.
Memory hook
Variable disappears, statement is true — infinite solutions.
