Definition
The number being divided in a division problem. In a ÷ b = c, the dividend is a; in fraction form, the dividend is the numerator.
Examples
- In -18 ÷ 3 = -6, the dividend is -18.
- In 24 ÷ 6 = 4, the dividend is 24.
