Coordinates
8.G.B.8
Definition
An ordered pair of numbers that specifies a point's position on the plane. The first value is the horizontal x-coordinate, the second is the vertical y-coordinate.
Examples
- (4, 3) is not the same as (3, 4) — order matters.
- Always x, then y.
Key rule
The coordinates give a point's exact address on the plane.
Memory hook
x first, y second — a point's address.
